"My son Bryant has been in Mixed Martial Arts and Brazilian Ju-Jitsu for sometime now...he has changed from a shy child to one with confidence, respect and great self-esteem. His skill level has so improved in the last year since the new owners have taken over. He has started to compete in Jiu-Jitsu tournaments this year and this has also helped him gain more confidence in his skills. Chris Wellstood has believed in him and all of his instructors feel the same way.
It makes me very proud to have my son in the Martial Arts Planet gym and would like to thank Chris so much and all of his staff for the excellent jobs they do. They put their time and effort into making our children learn respect and gain the confidence to feel great about themselves and to believe they are someone very special."

"As a woman with no martial arts background I’ve found Martial Art Planet to be a welcoming, inclusive, safe place to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. And it’s lots of fun, too!"

"I began taking Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at MAP to learn some effective methods of basic self-defense. In the process, I discovered the sport of it as well as the amazing group of coaches and students that make up the MAP community. Those are the reasons that I still
train, long after my original goal was met.
MAP is by far the best gym that I have ever trained at. The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming and the training is fun but challenging. The coaches are knowlegable and friendly and in addition to the steady stream of newcomers there are a good number of senior students to work with. I have met many amazing people and made some great friends at the gym.
If I had known what a fantastic experience it would be, I would have joined sooner."

"The quality instruction, skilled teammates, and coaching at Martial Arts Planet have readily improved my BJJ and my overall health. On top of that, the people of MAP are a jovial and good-humoured crew who make you feel at home no matter your experience, age, shape, or gender. MAP is my favourite place to be in Kingston!"

"I had wanted to try Muay Thai kickboxing for some time but always felt a little intimidated. I moved to Kingston two years ago and felt it was time to give it a shot. Once I got started at Martial Arts Planet, the nervousness quickly faded. The instructors at MAP are skilled, personable, keep you highly motivated, and are there to help you succeed. I've reached a level of strength that I couldn't have imagined and at times my cardiovascular fitness levels even surprise myself! Since MAP has classes for all skill and fitness levels, I look forward to continuously learning and improving in my classes with the help of supportive instructors and classmates. The friends I've made at MAP are a bonus on top of it all!"

"It has been close to 2 years now that my daughter has been training at Martial Arts Planet. She has tried many sports but none of them ever last. When her Dad talked to her about going to Kids MMA and Jit Jitsu, she didn't hesitate to say yes. Since then, she has loved every minute of it. This sport gave her a chance to become more confident in herself. All the coaches that train her have been a good influence on her and they ensure that it is safe for them to practice this sport. They also make all the kids feel equal, and this is really important for the kids that wish to take it seriously and compete or to just have fun.
She has also made friends that have become her best friends (Sam and Bryant). Even for me, going to the competitions outside of Kingston with the kids, I've become really good friends with the parents (April, Greg and Angie) that we will miss very much. Yes! It is with sadness that we are moving to Ottawa this summer and that we have to leave the great Nova Uniao family. And I say “WE” because spending so much time at MAP, I can say that it is also Anabelle’s and my family too.
Chris and Janet; thank you very much for everything and keep doing what you do for the kids. We will see you again soon."
