When I was first looking for a fitness program
I tried a couple of other clubs in our community. After being
tossed out of an aerobics class (I wasn't coordinated enough)
I decided to try one last time. It was then that I called
Martial Arts Planet. I started with UBfit™ Kickboxing
and loved it! The club has a great atmosphere and the program
allows each participant to go at his/her own level and pace.
Now I cross-train and participate in Muay Thai classes too,
enjoying as many programs as possible. So, thanks for tossing
me out of that aerobics class and right into the best decision

We're all unique. Not only is each individual's body built a little differently, but we each fill our lives with a mix of physical activities that can require specific training. "I have been an avid weight lifter for the past 5 years. When I moved to Kingston for school I looked around at something off campus that I could get involved in that would offer me something different, fun, and most of all good for my health. I found all of these qualities at Martial Arts Planet. I enrolled about a year ago and continued on with classes at MAP and also weight training on campus. This past summer I suffered an AC joint dislocation (shoulder injury). Luckily for me this was around the same time that a new TRX training class became available at MAP. With this type of injury bench press, pec dec, dips, weighted flys and even squats are impossible to perform at the gym because of the pressure placed on the muscles and ligaments in my shoulder. Unlike isolated movements of a machine or the worry of injury from free weight presses the TRX allowed for a greater degree of control and the fluid motions have allowed me to strengthen my shoulder and upper body without the worry of re-injury. Now my shoulder is feeling about 95%, but the TRX classes are such a great full body workout that I would never go back to just weight lifting in the gym again." - B. Smith
