RAVE REVIEWS!

Having trained in several martial arts schools in New York, California, Dublin, Boston, and of course Kingston, I can without hesitation say that Martial Arts Planet has been the best run, most intense, fun, and rewarding experience.

I cannot recommend MAP enough. Training at MAP this year saved me in many ways. MAP got me in shape and made me feel healthy, happy, and strong. MAP provided a refuge and distraction from the stress and anxiety of work; the hectic life of a parent of two small children; the Winter Blues; and the pain from the recent loss of my father.

Sincere and Warm Thanks,

2009 COMPETITION RESULTS

Bushido BGC grappling tournament

On Sunday August 24, two of our newer students, Josh McRae and Marcus Brown traveled to Ottawa to compete in the Bushido BGC grappling tournament. We are very happy and proud as the guys kept their cool throughout all of their matches and fought very intelligently. Marcus took first place in his division, winning all of his matches. Josh came away with a third place finish, after submitting all of his opponents (quickly!) except one. Great job guys!

Another "W" for Wagnney

Known as a submission machine our coach Wagnney Fabiano surprised us all by choosing to win his last fight at WEC 40 with his solid stand up skills. This is now 8 wins in a row for Wagnney. We are super happy for him and proud to have him as our coach!

2009 Ascension BJJ Open

Congratulations to the guys who made the trek to Toronto to compete in the Feb. 7-8 Ascension BJJ Open. Justin Yoo made his first foray into BJJ competition and after an extremely close match lost by 1 advantage point. Matt Payn also stepped up and won some matches in dominant style, eventually earning a 4th place finish. Finally, MAP student James Young made the trip to compete; this time as a brand new Blue Belt. Even in the tougher division James did well, earning 3rd place finishes (Bronze medal) in both the Gi and No-Gi divisions. Great work guys. We are all very proud of you!
